On June 1, 2024, the 2nd IKO Nakamura European Championships took place in Białystok, Poland, with the participation of nearly 500 competitors from around 90 clubs from Poland and abroad, including 24 OYAMA Polish Karate Federation associations. Oyama Karate representatives won 39 medals, including 10 gold, 15 silver and 14 bronze.

Organizational success of the hosts!



On April 20, 2024, in Radom, the Open Polish Championships in OYAMA and KYOKUSHIN Karate took place under the patronage of the Mayor of Radom and the President of OYAMA Polish Karate Federation. The event was organised by the Radom OYAMA Sports Club led by Shihan Tomasz Klimaszewski, 5th dan. A total of 511 competitors from 63 Oyama and Kyokushin Karate clubs participated.

The 20th Oyama Karate Seminar in Poland, commemorating the 30-year anniversary of Krakowski Klub OYAMA (1993-2023), took place in Krakow on June 3-4, 2023. The two-day seminar brought together over 180 instructors and participants, primarily from Poland, Hungary and Norway. The two-day seminar gathered over 180 instructors and participants mostly from Poland, Estonia and Germany. This year the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic forced the XIX OYAMA Karate Olympiad to be conducted on the group level only. The event was organized on October 19-22 2020. The Olympiad gathered 480 students that competed in athletic and technical challenges. This year the competition was limited to local training groups and the participation of spectators was strictly forbidden. The Olympiad was organized by Krakowski Club OYAMA with financial support of the Municipality of Krakow.

Knockdown Seminar



City of Krakow hosted OYAMA Karate Sports-Schooling Seminar that mainly focused on Knockdown. During a two day schooling around 160 participants including chief of clubs, instructors, referees and fighters from Poland and abroad learned new techniques and exercises.

In days 25-26 May 2013 year, Vitebsk - Belarus hosted the 4th European Open Oyama Karate Championships in: Knockdown, Semi-knockdown and Kata. The organizer of this event was The OYAMA Karate Organization of Belarus with Sensei Igor Yurkevich 3rd Dan. Thirteen different organizations from 8 countries including : Russia, Poland, Ukraine, Belarus, Estonia, Germany, Hungary and Azerbaijan were represented at the tournament. European Championships gathered over 320 competitors.

Krakow hosted an All Polish Oyama Karate Seminar focusing on kumite competitions. Nearly 110 instructors and competitors from Poland took part in the event. Hanshi Jan Dyduch 8th dan handed the black belts and master certificates to the participants of the exam with Soshu Shigeru Oyama 10th dan, that took part in June.

Excellent performance form a Polish Team!

Polish Team gave a great performance during the DAGEKI World Championships in Contact Karate in Montreal. Roman Misiaszek and Dominik Rzepka won silver medals additionally Anna Majczak won a bronze in knockdown. Besides that Polish female competitor won a gold medal in kata competing against excellent participants fromKyokushin and Kanreikai. Many organizations were represented as well as 14 countries.

Soshu conducted two kata trainings and a black belt test as a part of 15th International Schooling-Qualifying Seminar in Poland. Between May 14-15th 2011, OYAMA International Karate Federation organized Open European Championships in kata, knockdown and semi-knockdown. Tournament took place in Johvi-Estonia. Mr Aivar Surva, Mayor of Mäetaguse Parish Government and Hanshi Jan Dyduch, Chairman of OYAMA IKF took patronage over the tournament. Sensei Valeriy Savitskiy 3rd dan from the Estonian Oyama Karate Federation organized this tournament that gathered around 170 competitors. Eight countries participated in the tournament. We had representatives from: Russia, Poland, Ukraine, Belarus, Estonia, Germany, Ireland and Azerbaijan.

The 11th Polish Cup OYAMA TOP in knockdown took place in Kozienice. The event was organized by Nadwislanski Klub Sportow Walki WULKAN with its leader Sensei Andrzej Suwala 3rd dan. Hanshi Jan Dyduch 8th dan, President of OYAMA Polish Karate Federation took patronage over the tournament. About 40 female and male fighters, representing 16 Oyama karate clubs, took part in Polish Cup.

Polish representatives from OYAMA PKF did a great job at the DAGEKI Karate World Championships in Montreal. They won seven medals, 6 gold and one bronze!!! Roaring success was achieved by Anna Majczak who won three gold medals in: kata, kobudo (weapon kata) and knockdown. Gold medals in kumite were won by: Piotr Cieśliński, Dominik Rzepka and Łukasz Łuczyński. Anna Jermaków won the bronze medal and Łukasz Światowski got the 4th place.

During a two-day meeting, Soshu Shigeru Oyama 10th dan conducted a spectacular training for a group of 300 children in the Winter Stadium and two special trainings regarding fighting tactics and Seienchin kata. The creator of the OYAMA style tested 27, 1st and 2nd dan candidates. Jan Dyduch was granted the 8th dan Master black belt and a title of Hanshi from Grand Master Shigeru Oyama.

Dawid Kiszycki in the impressive style, won a gold medal in a heavy weight category, defeating in the final fight Kamil Maras (USA, Kyokushin IFK). The 2nd Oyama Karate Championships of Brandenburg took place in Cottbus, October 17th 2009. The tournament gathered over 80 competitors from Germany and Poland. Besides the competitors from Oyama style we had competitors from Kyokushinkai from Berlin. Doitsu-Budo Kwai e. V Club form Cottbus was the organizer of the tournament, represented by Sensei Christie Herold and Sensei Carsten Augsten. OYAMA IKF European Cup was held from May 16 to 17 in Bydgoszcz, Poland. The tournament was divided into the following categories: Kata, Semi-knockdown and Knockdown.
