Polish Oyama Karate Championships in Kata

The City of Olkusz hosted the 18th Polish Oyama Karate Championships in Kata. Two hundred and thirty competitors from 30 clubs took part in the event. The tournament was organized by Jurajski Oyama Karate Club with Sensei Kazimierz Skalniak 3rd dan.

Mister Dariusz Rzepka, the Mayor of Olkusz took honorary patronage over the Championships. The tournament has been opened by Hanshi Jan Dyduch 8th dan, Chairman of the Board of OYAMA Polish Karate Federation. Shihan Andrzej Pierzchała 6th dan, Director of Schooling Division - OYAMA International Karate Federation also came to the tournament. Shihan Paweł Pajdak 5th dan was a Head Referee. The Championships were conducted in eighteen categories with both male and female competitors. The best competitors of the Polish Championships were chosen by the referees. The award went to junior Klaudia Malinowska (Łask) and senior Sebastian Cierpioł (Katowice); both won two gold medals in Kata and Kobudo. Our sincere congratulations, OSU!

The 18th OYAMA Karate Championships were very well organized. Hanshi Jan Dyduch congratulated Sensei Kazimierz Skalniak and thanked him for preparing the event. Sensei Kazimierz Skalniak was presented with a congratulatory plaque on account of his 30 years practicing karate. Congratulations, OSU!

During the competition the Chairman of the Board of OYAMA PKF handed cups and prices to this year winners of Best Oyama Karate Sportsman according to the 2011 Ranking. We congratulate everybody on their results, OSU!
