IFK WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS IN LEIPZIG
Four bronze medals for our girls!

Natalia Paczyńska wins bronze in U21!

 

The 7th IFK Kyokushin World Championships took place on May 10, 2025, at the
Quarterback Immobilien Arena Leipzig, Germany, organized by IFK Germany and the
AktnSport SAXONIA club. Over 700 competitors from 40 countries across 5 continents
participated, including 12 representatives from 9 OYAMA clubs of the Polish Karate
Federation, and one from England.

Our female competitors performed exceptionally well, securing 4 bronze medals in highly
competitive categories:

3. Natalia Paczyńska, Tarnobrzeg, U21, up to 55 kg.
3. Michalina Domider, Tychy, U16, up to 45 kg.
3. Hanna Grześ, Jelenia Góra, U16, up to 45 kg.
3. Jagoda Mekwińska, Piotrków Trybunalski Washi, U16, up to 55 kg.

Our Organization in Leipzig was officially represented by: Shihan Andrzej Tomiałowicz,
6th dan (Vice President of OYAMA IKF and its Country Representative in Germany) and
Shihan Dariusz Szulc, 5th dan (Authorized Representative of the OYAMA PKF Board for
the World Championships in Leipzig and Head of the Polish Team). The referees included
Sensei Miron Kowalski, 3rd dan; Sensei Piotr Grochulski 1st dan; and Sempai Przemysław Otoku, 2nd kyu (all from Piotrków Trybunalski Washi). Kumite matches and Kata presentations in the Kyokushin style were held on 9 mats.

According to Shihan Tomiałowicz and Shihan Szulc, the championships were organized at
a high level, both in terms of logistics and competition. Notable performances came from
the determined representatives from Kazakhstan. Our team was strongly supported by a
large OYAMA karate team from Bonn, led by Sensei Janusz Bawol.
