POLISH NATIONAL SEMINAR OF OYAMA PKF IN KUMITE

Sensei Tomasz Mrowiec and Sensei Maciej Giziński Photo Radosław Dyduch On January 11-12, 2025, Jelenia Góra hosted a Polish National Seminar of OYAMA PKF in Kumite, bringing together training center heads, technical training managers, referees, instructors, and a wide group of junior and senior competitors. Opening of the Seminar. Photo Radosław Dyduch The event was organized and hosted by the Jelenia Góra OYAMA Club, led by Shihan Rafał Majda, 6th dan. The main theme of the two-day training was Kumite, with focus on exercises emphasizing mobility and dynamic leg and hand techniques in contact karate. Despite severe winter weather, the Seminar attracted over 200 participants, including guests from Norway, Germany and England. OSU! Photo Radosław Dyduch During the opening ceremony, Hanshi Jan Dyduch, 9th dan, honored Shihan Andrzej Tomiałowicz, 6th dan (Germany) with a congratulatory letter on the 40th anniversary of his martial arts career. These sessions focused on exercises and tactical combinations aimed at improving dynamic leg and hand techniques for sport combat. Participants refined their skills in procedures, commends and gestures using training materials and referee accessories. The Chairman of the Association’s Refereeing Committee focused on updated Kumite regulations in preparation for this year’s joint KYOKUSHIN and OYAMA Polish Championships in Toruń. Photo Radosław Dyduch Sensei Tomasz Mrowiec, 4th dan, conducted two specialized training sessions, showcasing motor exercises aimed at preparing athletes to improve dynamic footwork and explosive power in kicks and strikes. These exercises incorporated body weight and/or resistance bands. During the Seminar, Hanshi Jan Dyduch held a series of educational and technical consultations, as well as lectures and workshops on teaching methodology as part of the OYAMA PFK Sports Instructor Course 2024/2025.
