OPEN POLISH CHAMPIONSHIPS IN OYAMA AND KYOKUSHIN KARATE

On April 20, 2024, in the prestigious RCS Hall in Radom, the Open Polish Championships in OYAMA and KYOKUSHIN Karate took place. The event was patronized by the Mayor of Radom, Radosław Witkowski, and the President of the OYAMA Polish Karate Federation, Jan Dyduch. The event was organised by the Radom OYAMA Sports Club led by Shihan Tomasz Klimaszewski, 5th dan.

The tournament was commenced with an official inauguration by Jan Dyduch, president of the OYAMA PKF Board, who emphasized the purpose and importance of sports collaboration within the contact karate community in Poland and beyond. Hanshi also expressed warm gratitude to Shihan Bogusław Jeremicz, 6th dan (Gdańsk), Shihan Artur Wilento, 5th dan (Toruń), Shihan Piotr Sawicki, 6th dan (Białystok), Shihan Zbigniew Goliński, 5th dan (Limanowa), along with Shihan Paweł Pajdak, 7th dan (Sosnowiec) and Shihan Tomasz Klimaszewski, 5th dan (Radom), acknowledging their invaluable contributions to the meticulous preparation, seamless organization and successful execution of the joint Championships in Radom, OSU!

A total of 511 competitors from 63 Oyama and Kyokushin Karate Clubs participated in the Championships. By noon, 29 OYAMA PFK Polish Championships in forms (Kata, Kata with weapon and Team Kata) had been conducted.

The afternoon saw thrilling Kumite competitions (Semi-knockdown and Knockdown) took place, with 441 male and female karatekas participating. The judging panel was efficiently led by Shihan Paweł Pajdak in cooperation with Shihan Artur Wilento.

The competitions were held on 5 mats. Gabriela Kuczyńska from Kielce was recognized as the Best Female Competitor of the Championships, and Jakub Pulsakowski from Wieliczka was named the Best Male Competitor.

The Championships’ IT support was provided through the zen.idojo.pl system. Original medals and trophies were crafted by WIKOSS-SPORT from Będzin. The strategic sponsor of the event was MetBud Michał Zięba. The Championships were co-financed by the OYAMA Polish Karate Federation.

Medalist were honored by Hanshi Jan Dyduch, 9th dan, Saiko Shihan Andrzej Pierzchała, 8th dan, Shihan Paweł Pajdak, 7th dan, Shihan Bogusław Jeremicz, 6th dan and Shihan Tomasz Klimaszewski, 5th dan. Additionally, Hanshi presented spectacular trophies to the best OYAMA PKF athletes in 2023, crafted by SUTEMI.
