The 24th Polish Oyama Karate Championships in Kumite
Senior’s fight. Photo Radoslaw Dyduch The 24th Polish OYAMA Karate Championships in Kumite were held in Krakow. The President of Krakow, prof. Jacek Majchrowski and the President of OYAMA Polish Karate Federation, Hanshi Jan Dyduch took patronage over this event. Tournament was organized by Malopolski Klub Sportowy KOYAMA and its leader Sensei Miroslaw Osika 4th dan. Championships gathered 380 competitors from 44 clubs, representing OYAMA International Karate Federation and four Kyokushin federations (including: Kyokushin-Tezuka Group, Kyokushin WKB, Kyokushin KWF and Shinkyokushin). Mr Pawel Opach, the Director of the Sports Departament in Krakow, Shihan Eugeniusz Stanislawek 7th dan, the President of European Kyokushinkai Tezuka Group, Shihan Andrzej Pierzchala 7th dan, the V-ce President of OYAMA IKF, Shihan Pawel Juszczyk 5th dan and Shihan Slawomir Dubiel 5th dan, V-ce Presidents of World Kyokushin Budokai Poland were also present during the competition. Shihan Pawel Pajdak 6th dan was the head referee. The duties of the mat referees were fulfilled by Shihan Witold Choiński 6th dan, Shihan Rafal Majda 5th dan, Shihan Ryszard Zolty 5th dan, Shihan Boguslaw Plewka 5th dan, Shihan Pawel Juszczyk 5th dan, Sensei Robert Bretner 4th dan, Sensei Mariusz Pawlus 4th dan, Sensei Tomasz Klimaszewski 4th dan and Sensei Tomasz Mrowiec 3rd dan. Hanshi Jan Dyduch 8th dan thanked the hosts on behalf of the OYAMA PKF for the invitation and presented Sensei Miroslaw Osika 4th dan with a special plaque on occasion of the Polish OYAMA Karate Championship. Saturday morning started with Light–contact competitions on four tatami. Same day, afternoon was reserved for prestigious Knockdown tournament. Sunday was planed for the Junior Polish Championships in Semi-knockdown. The winners received nice trophies sponsored by OYAMA Polish Karate Federation and City Krakow. Junior Male category.
