All qualifying fights took place in the morning. After that, the finals started with the board breaking by male fighters. They used three obligatory techniques: Shuto, Seiken and Hiji.

Both tameshiwarii and weight differences played crucial role in determining the results of many equalized fights. Stiff and tough fights brought many surprising results. Unexpectedly, two European Champions, Roman Oraczko and Dominik Rzepka (Kraków-Oyama), lost their fights with Grzegorz Kowalski (Zabrze) by the weight difference. Another surprise was the defeat of Norbert Andrzejewski (Kraków-Oyama) with Łukasz Mazur (Jelenia Góra). Andrzejewski lost due to the smaller number of broken boards.

Grzegorz Kowalski (Zabrze), Artur Nawaryński (Bielsko-Biała), Łukasz Łuczyński (Kozienice) and Bartosz Fieducik (Słupsk) won their fights and confirmed that they are part of Oyama karate lead.

Bartosz Fieducik (Słupsk) broke the highest number of boards, and furthermore he was chosen the Best Fighter of OYAMA TOP. Due to this he won special prize from the Travel Agency OLIMP. It is the excursion for two people in 2008, worth $1600. According to the expectations, titled female fighters won their categories: Marta Ignatiuk (Jelenia Góra) and Anna Kołodziej-Plewka (Lubliniec). They both received special precious prizes, silver-plated cups.

Polish Cup OYAMA TOP was organized at very good level. Sensei Paweł Pajda 4th dan (Sosnowiec) was the head referee. The field referees were: Sensei Witold Choiński 4th dan (Białystok), Sensei Bogusław Plewka 3rd dan (Lubliniec) and Sensei Mariusz Pawlus 3rd dan (Oświęcim). Sensei Marek Zwierzyński 1st dan (Warszawa) ably led the whole event according to programme. Mrs Bożena Majowska took care in regard to the information point of view.

Beautiful posters informed citizens of Andrychów about the OYAMA TOP. The sports hall had neat decor, enriched by the play of lights, different laser and music effects. The host prepared not only great visual effects, precious cups, medals or diplomas for competitors, but also some souvenirs for referees, sponsors and special guests.

Numerous organizational team, in distinctive t-shirts, skillfully did their job i.a due to the integrated system for mobile communication. The Polish Cup OYAMA TOP was reported by both regional and National Polish television.
